A small plane carrying 18 people crashed Sunday night while landing at the Riberalta airport, 1,000 kilometers (approximately 620 miles) from La Paza.
Eight were killed while the rest were injured. However, seven of the eight bodies have not been identified because the victims’ bodies were too charred after the impact.
The plane, which departed from Trinidad, went off the runway and caught fire after hitting some brush. Weather was a factor in the crash as some witnesses said that it was pouring rain at the time of the crash.
The plane belong to Aerocon, a local airline. This is their fourth accident since 2012.
