A single-engine, rear-propeller plane crashed at the Palm Beach County Glades Airport in Southern Florida on Sunday, September 22, 2013, injuring two men in the plane, authorities said. Both men survived, and there were no injuries reported on the ground.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units found the plane upside down at the end of the runway, a spokesman said. The airport does not have a control tower.
“It appeared to be an experimental aircraft,” said Capt. Albert Borroto, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman.
Both occupants of the plane were taken by helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
